Cam Bennett

Born in Sydney in 1939, Cam was educated at Newington College, and then spent his teenage years and early 20?s working in the wool industry, followed by working as a jackaroo in both N.S.W. and Qld. He met and married Judi Kwan in 1967. He has two sons, David and James. In 1970 Cam, Judi and baby David travelled to Papua New Guinea (PNG) to meet with Judi?s family. The three week holiday turned into a permanent stay of 12 years! During this time, they were involved in a number of businesses, mainly restaurants and hotels. James was born in 1974. Cam was involved in the Chamber of Commerce and other community activities including Rotary. In 1975 he received an Independence Day Medal from PNG?s first Prime Minister, Michael Somare, for services to the community. The family moved back to Queensland in 1982 where they have lived to the present day. Business enterprises have included dairy farming, indoor cricket, a motel and restaurant. During their years in hospitality based businesses both Judi and Cam developed people skills and an understanding of the importance of good communication. They both enjoyed being involved in the Real Estate industry and joined Pulse Properties in 2002 (Judi) and 2003 (Cam). Judi was enjoying remarkable success in sales with the company when she quite suddenly and tragically died in September 2003. Cam continues to work with the company to stay in touch with the many friends and clients that he and Judi have made over the last few years. Cam, because of his business background, concentrates on the commercial and development side of the real estate industry. Cam is a keen sportsman. He walks everyday and plays golf and tennis, when time permits. His pastimes are reading and sports TV and dinner with friends. Cam is a committed Christian and attends services at the Bridgeman Baptist Community Church.
